Completely out of nothing the Canadians get onto the scoreboard for the very first time in this bronze medal match! JOSH MORRISSEY's skates were hit by a shot from the right wing by Charles Hudon and then the puck was deflected into the left bottom corner from there!
Assisted by Charles Hudon and Adam Pelech!

EDUARD GIMATOV received a pass inside the neutral zone, skated a few metres and then fired the puck past the last defender and finally Matt Fucale straight into the left corner! The Canadian goalie didn't look too well in this situation!
Assisted by Andrei Mironov.

Suddenly MIKHAIL GRIGORENKO tried it with a shot from the right wing towards the left bottom corner which looked to be deflected by the stick of Paval Buchnevich but instead it hit the skates of Canadian defender Matt Dumba from where the puck went into the net – no chance at all to react for Matt Fucale to avoid this early power play goal!
Without assist.

This series had an end at the 2013 WJC in Ufa, Russia, where they left the tournament in the semifinals 1-5 against Team USA before losing a spectacular bronze medal game against tournament hosts and archrivals Russia 5-6 in overtime.
This afternoon the North Americans have the big chance for revenge when they again face Russia after being beaten by Finland (1-5) in the semifinals. Russia's gold medal hopes ended with a 1-2 loss against Sweden in the second last playoff round.
Canada's top scorers during the tournament were Anthony Mantha with 11 points (5+6) and Jonathan Drouin with 9 points (3+6). Russia only has one player in the top 10 of ther scorer list with Mikhail Grigorenko who earned 7 points (4+3).
There are no favourites visible in this matchup and an open and close game can be expected as both teams want to leave the tournament with a success.
