40:40

Frölunda starts the third period with letting their very talented 16-year old forward Kristian Vesalainen getting some ice time. Lay that name on your memory, 'cause that big Finn is going to be something in the future.

Start of 3rd period.
Is this the last time Davos enters the ice in this tournament? In 20 minutes we'll know. They have to score at least five goals.
Second period ends with one goal, just as the first one, but it's Davos who scores the lone goal this time.

Davos had a great start of the period and deserved that tying goal and definitely had a couple of more chances to score even more, but Lars Johansson in the net for Frölunda has come up big a few times today as well.

33:00

Frölunda has really taken command of this game thanks to the last two penalties and Davos are having a hard time getting the puck out of their own zone.

No goal.
Apparently the referees weren't sure regarding that last sequence (Lasch breaking in towards the net) and decides to check it.

31:12

Close call by Frölunda there when Ryan Lasch drives into the net, but Genoni saves both his shot and Joel Lundqvist's rebound shot. Solid act from the goalie there.

Davos cleared the previous PK in the game. Can they do it again?

20:01

Start of 2nd period.
The first period is over and Frölunda scores the lone goal, leading to a six-goal-advantage with two periods left to play. A lot of speed, intensity and skill in the first period with a lot of quick transitions. It feels like Frölunda controls the game, but Davos showed up a lot of energy and a few goals in the second period could definitely give them even more.

1-0 (3:29) Patrik Carlsson (Artturi Lehkonen, Robin Figren).

19:00

One minute left to play in the first period. Frölunda in a comfortable 6-0-lead on the aggregate.

18:15

It was a good powerplay by Frölunda who kept the puck in the offensive zone during the whole penalty, but created nothing more than a few "half-chances"

Really great intensity in the game so far. Davos with the puck in offensive zone a lot, but Frölunda defends their zone good and are not letting the Swiss into the danger.

Mauro Jörg of Davos has THREE chances but can't bury it. First, he tips it just wide, recollects the puck and shot twice but can't beat Johansson.

10:17

Davos pushes down Frölunda with an offensive and really energetic forecheck which makes Frölunda play the puck to an icing.

08:00

Power-break here and when I'm looking at the player benches the head coach of Frölunda seems to tell his guys to "Calm down, don't rush anything". The Davos players? All are faced towards the massive yellow section on the crowd standings, baffled.

07:40

Good counter-attack by Davos when Samuel Walser advances into the zone along the right boards and gets two shot attempts. The first one gets blocked and the other one gets through, but without disturbing Lars Johansson that much.

07:08

But WOW, what an atmosphere it is in Frölundaborg right now. Davos' fans are really letting their guys know they're there to support them. Thumbs up!

06:31

Great game so far, and yet again the Frölunda line with Patrik Carlsson, Robin Figren and Artturi Lehkonen makes a great shift with a lot of speed and a little pressure in the offensive zone.

03:29

Goal for Frölunda!
PATRIK CARLSSON puts the biscuit in the net on a rebound from Leonardo Genoni and Frölunda are up to a 6-0-lead. Not the start Davos wanted, obviously.
Assisted by: Artturi Lehkonen & Robin Figren.

02:30

Dine Wieser makes a great stride pushing his way into the net from the left faceoff circle and aren't far from capitalizing. But Lars Johansson in Frölunda's net is solid and close the gap between his legs to keep it scoreless.
And the puck is dropped!

00:01

Game started.
Players from both teams enters the ice in this fine moment and we can experience a enthusiastic crowd. Will Davos succeed turning this 5 goal-deficit? Their long-traveled fans do hope so.

You should also have in mind that Frölunda haven't lost any home ice game in the CHL. Not this season nor last season. Quite a tough task for the Swiss.
There are approximately 150-200 Davos fans here in Frölundaborg today and they decided to start cheering for their team even before the ice resurfacer has left the rink, and they're loud.
Impressive to witness that amount of fans making the trip up here to Sweden, especially when being down 5 goals.
In Oulu, Kärpät edged out Lukko on aggregate score 5-4 since the game today ended 2-2. That means that Kärpät will host the CHL Final 2016.

Having got back to winning ways over the weekend following two losses in the NLA, and one in the CHL, HC Davos have it all tonight tonight in Gothenburg. Down 5-0 from the first leg, the Swiss side will need lady luck to be on their side if they're to stand any chance at making the final. "It was brutal to lose so high, we played badly and made mistakes which our opponents too full advantage of," said Dick Axellson, who returns to Gothenburg tonight but this time in a Davos uniform. "I believe in our chances – we must be ready from the first puck drop. Nothing is impossible, and it will be important for us to score a couple of early goals. We absolutely want to put on a good performance".

For Frolunda, focussing on the task at hand will be the key despite their significant aggregate advantage. ”If we lack concentration, their might be a problem as Davos plays a sharp offensive game" says Frölunda defender Henrik Tömmernes. "We will stick to our gameplan and we will focus on preventing their engergy, as we did in Davos one week ago.”
