So, Sparta joins Zurich at the top of the group with 6 points each, which sets up what should be an interesting game this evening between those two teams, so you won't want to miss that. Minsk play Okanagan also tonight, and one of those teams will get its first win of the tournament. (14:10:50)

It appears that Minsk will begin the period on the power play, as a minor penalty for kneeing was called against Sparta's Matous Horsky as the second period expired.
Overall, that was a much better period for Minsk, who were in a big hole early in the first period. They kept Sparta at bay for much of the period, though Pekarsky did make a couple of big saves as well, but near the end of the period, a lucky bounce puts Sparta up by 4 after two periods.

Third time's the charm for PETR MARSOUN. After being denied twice by Pekarsky on the last two sequences, he got lucky this time as his pass attempt hit the skate of a Minsk defenceman and went in the net!

Sparta scored 3 goals in the first 8 minutes and it looked like the score could get really ugly in this one. They had chances to add to the lead since then, but botched a couple of glorious chances on their own, and also Sergei Pekarsky made quite a few saves. Late in the period, Minsk started to come on a bit after being dominated early.
